PROFESSIONAL FIREARMS TRAINING

It’s A Proven Fact That When People Are Faced With A Threat, They Do Not Respond At Their Level Of Expectation, But Their Level Of Training.

Whether it’s a case of intense road rage, a sudden carjacking, an active shooter scenario, a terrifying home invasion, a violent mob confrontation, or even while hiking your favorite trail, more and more individuals are coming to the unsettling realization: nobody is coming to save them except themselves. This growing awareness highlights the critical importance of self-defense and situational awareness in today’s unpredictable world.

Most Civilian and Law Enforcement gunfights are between 7-15 feet apart—If You Have Not Experienced Being On A Closed Private Shooting Range—Not Just In A Comfortable Stall, But Actually On The Active Range—Drawing From Your Holster, Moving Strategically, And Shooting While Engaging Multiple Targets, Performing Efficient Magazine Reloads, Clearing Weapons Malfunctions, And Swiftly Getting Back In The Fight, Then You Have Not Truly Attended A Comprehensive Defensive Firearms Course.

Throughout all training courses, instructors emphasize the #1 priority is safety and the importance of cultivating the right mindset while also enhancing students' situational awareness. Regardless of the weapon system you choose, mastering these fundamentals plays a vital role in ensuring your survival and safety if, God forbid, you should ever find yourself in an armed self-defense scenario.

TSHG is humbled to have had countless students from all walks of life, return to attend our dynamic courses several times. Taught at Glacier Gun Club, a prestigious members-only indoor shooting range, located in Olympia, Washington, We Offer Specialized Courses for individuals, Small Groups, Ladies Only, Couples, and Corporate Events, Tailored to Meet Your Unique Needs.

Additionally, active shooter survival seminars are conducted for private groups, corporations, businesses, and non-profit organizations. These training sessions ensure comprehensive preparedness, significantly enhanced safety awareness, and reinforce a strong commitment to the duty of care for all participants involved.

  • TSHG Level-1 Defensive Handgun Course offers students the opportunity to safely and confidently draw from the holster while employing proper grip, pressing out to achieve a solid sight picture, taking accurate shots, understanding necessary follow-ups, and executing smooth and efficient magazine changes, along with guidance on selecting the right guns, holsters, and support gear.

  • TSHG Level-2 Defensive Handgun Course elevates the intensity and pace of training. It includes a review of the skills learned in Level-1 while introducing critical skill sets such as handgun malfunction clearing, wounded response, moving and shooting techniques, engaging multiple targets, and the effective use of cover and concealment via barricades. Additionally, we cover varying positions like kneeling, sitting, and prone, along with other essential defensive shooting tactics.

  • TSHG Level III Low Light Defensive Handgun course teaches the essentials of low light equipment selection, to include handheld flashlights, pistol-mounted light sources, and support equipment. Students will be taught techniques to effectively search, navigate, identify potential threats and engage, when necessary, in a low light environment. TSHG Level I & II are required to attend.

  • LT. Col. Jeff Cooper was arguably the wisest man alive regarding guns. Below are his carefully designed rules (and commentary) for safe gun handling. Nobody who does not know these rules should ever touch a gun, much less tell anyone else how to handle a gun!

MAKE THESE RULES YOUR CREED AND THEY WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE AND OTHERS - PERIOD

RULE 1: ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

The only exception to this occurs when one has a weapon in his hands and he has personally unloaded it for checking. As soon as he puts it down, Rule 1 applies again.

RULE 2: NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY

You may not wish to destroy it, but you must be clear in your mind that you are quite ready to if you let that muzzle cover the target. To allow a firearm to point at another human being is a deadly threat, and should always be treated as such.

RULE 3: KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER TIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

This we call the Golden Rule because its violation is responsible for about 80 percent of the firearms disasters we read about.

RULE 4: BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET, WHAT IS BEHIND AND BEYOND IT

You never shoot at anything until you have positively identified it. You never fire at a shadow, or a sound, or a suspected presence. You shoot only when you know absolutely what you are shooting at and what is beyond it.

MULTI-STATE CCW PERMITS

We have all seen the rather “unique” individuals who choose to openly carry a gun and far too often, only to inadvertently make targets out of themselves and everyone around them.

The goal should always be to blend in seamlessly—as the grey man or woman in the room—calm, unassuming, and largely unnoticed. Ultimately, only you should be aware that you are armed, maintaining a low profile that enhances your safety and the safety of those around you.

A Law-Abiding Citizen With “Certified” Training Can Obtain A Non-Resident Concealed Carry Pistol Permit From The States Of Utah, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, Florida And Others. Combined With Your State Resident Permit, You Could Legally Conceal A Pistol In Over 75% Of The U.S.

Attend A “One Time” 4-Hr Certification Course, Based On The Utah BCI Curriculum, Covering: Safe Loading / Unloading, Types Of Firearms, Ammunition Considerations, Storage & Transporting, Concealment Methods, Legal Use Of Force By Private Citizens And The Application Process.
